The latest NR is out. (refer Latest 15th Jan.2015 NR List).
Normally, the last quarter of every year for the past 3 years is an active chess month for the kids with the Penang Open and National Juniors (as well as the World Youth C.C. for CP). However, due to hAnA attending various selection programmes and interviews in NS and Melaka colleges for entrance to F1 this year, the last quarter of 2014 was rather a quiet period.
Out of 3 Rapid events CP had participate i.e. 20th Kepong Juniors, 1st KTJ Open and 2nd Piala YDP MPSJ only 1 is a NR event. In the only NR event he played in i.e. Kepong Juniors, he secured his 7th title by emerging Champion of the U8 event and in the process added 54.9 points to his new NR of 1516. It's been said that the NR of a player is 200-250 lower than his FIDE rating which is not true in CP's case with a FIDE rating of 1468.
hAnA only participated in a non-NR event i.e. 1st KTJ Open held in Mantin-NS and thus ensuring that her NR of 1415 for the last quarter remains unchanged.
