F: 2pm DEMO on WEDNESDAY

WED. Update:
3 weeks of inactivity shows.
CP was chosen to start the exhibition demo, conducted for the school's co-cu crowd.
It was also the FIRST time he's being cheered...by his schoolmates.
Though trailing 1 - 4 at one time during the 3 minute bout, he managed to remain composed and won 5 - 4 at the end.

C: Its Time for the MSSM FInals to be FIDE-rated!

Based on the official "unofficial" MCF calendar for 2016, the National-level MSSM Finals is slated for the 21st to 25th of August 2016 in Kelantan.

In my opinion, a FIDE-rated MSSM Finals is long overdue.

In the first team competition CP competed in and his second U10 Foil competition for 2015,
CP finished 11th in the ordered ranking and qualified for the playoffs.
His teammates are Emin, Umar & Aiman.

CP's challenge ended at the QF stage.

Match 4: lost, 2 - 3 (time ended).

CP will be taking part in his first team event and 4th foil tournament for 2015 i.e. the Cempaka Inter-School Fencing competition. Presumably, Coach Ghadz had just registered CP to be in the U10 foil team for the event which will also be his 2nd U10 event after the FT Closed last week.

After August's U8/U9 Touche Junior Circuit and October's U12 MFF Nationals, the FT Closed U10 is CP's third competition exposure. In this event, CP recorded 2 firsts i.e. first time he's competing in the U10 event as well as the first time he's in a state finals.

When the dusts settled, CP was 22nd in the ordered ranking. Not too bad but not too good either as he missed the playoffs slot by 2 places.The top 20 foilers qualified for the playoffs/quarters. There goes RM80 for half a days fencing.

Takebacks from FT Closed 2015.

(1) More intensive prep and sparring prior to competition.

(2) Choice of 1st(used in competition) and 2nd (backup) weapon.

(3) Counter lunge speed.

(4) Bring water to pieste.

(5) Not to be out-psyched by "shouting" opponents.
(6) Appropriate tactics for difft opponents height.
