hAnA's BEST Tournament - 2nd SK Seri Hartamas Age-Group Chess Championship, 2012

The 2nd SK Seri Hartamas Age-Group Chess Championship held on Saturday,29th September 2012 in Sri Hartamas,KL is easily hAnA's best performance ever in a chess competition since she started participating in Chess competitions since the last Quarter of 2011.

She won 5 out of 6 games and was tied on 5points with the U-10 Girls Winner(Evelyn Tan Eng Thong) and Runners-Up(Lum Ting Fang). However, despite having the same points hAnA lost out on count back to Evelyn and Lum.

(Note: 1st@Evelyn & 2nd@Lum Ting Fang...both 5pts as well)

cHEss pIRATE - 17th Overall, with 4pts.

Note: DESPITE playing an attacking game, CP Amir Faiz lost to his sister hAnA who managed to absorb the attack and countered accordingly. Hence, hAnA ended with 5pts(5Wins & 1 Loss) whilst cHEss pIRATE finished strongly with 4pts(4 WINS & 2Losses).

The UNTHINKABLE HAPPENED!!! Civil War is about to erupt!!!...the WINNER will get bragging rights in the house. Round 6 will be a FAMILY AFFAIR with hAnA playing against the cHEss PIRATE on Board 4. Initially, I thought that my eyes were deceiving me...uNFORTUNATELY when the pairing for the final round was issued and I used my finger to double check the line, that was when I knew it'll be a family event.

1st UPDATE:
For some inexplicable reason, Faiz's rating of 1112 was NOT listed resulting him
starting the event ranked 29th instead of 13th. hAnA on the other hand started the competition on 5th place as her NR of 1242 was listed.

WE.......or, at least hAnA is back at SK Seri Hartamas,KL around 8.30AM for the 2nd SK Seri Hartamas Age Group Chess Competition 2012. hAnA and the cHEss pIRATE will be taking part in the U-10 Age Group. The exact same venue also hosted this year's Bangsar Zone chess competition where hAnA took part as a member of the SK TTDI (1), KL chess team and finished 5th in the U-10 category. For the record, other members of SK TTDI(1) Chess Team for the Bangsar zone finals are Alysa(8th), Najwa(15th) and Suraya(16th)
