5th PJ Open, U12 Results.
This event was rescheduled to a later date due to a date clash with an earlier event. Not many top players participated in this event most probably due to the NAG just being concluded last week and most players...and parents decided to take a well-earned rest this week. Would have loved to take a break as well but had committed to SM earlier that Faiz will participate in his third PJ Open and add some "title" to the competition. The organisers did mention about him being a young player with a title (....adik ni, muda muda lagi dah ada title) during the prize-giving ceremony which was met with applause by the audience. .
CP was Top Seed for the event but finished 4th after a loss and a draw in the last 2 rounds of the 7-round competition. In the last round, CP made a decision to go for the title despite the opponent offering a draw (which would have enabled him to emerge Runners-Up) but the results was not in his favour. Well, you Win Some & Lose Some and I'm rather pleased that he went for broke rather than settle for a draw. I am certain that this trait will serve him well in future competitions.
