5th Piala YDP MPSJ 2016, hAnA is Best Girl & CP's Streak Ends at 13!

In the just concluded 2016 Piala YDP MPSJ, Farhana received the Best Female Player prize in the U18 category which carries with it a RM50 cash prize.

However, CP's winning game streak which began at the U17 DPulze event ended at 13 wins (Last Round@2nd DPulze U17, 7 rounds@Piala DS Komalam U12 & 5 rounds@5th Piala YDP MPSJ U12) after the loss in Round 6. Will he ever beat his own 17-Game Winning streak record? Only CP knows the answer to that.

Finally, after 2 years of attending college in Melaka hAnA won her first title in Melaka i.e. the Majlis Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Negeri Melaka (MSSNM) Girls U15 - Champion. The event was held at S.K. Demang Taha. Last year in Jasin, Amira Farhana Amirul finished third in her maiden outing in Melaka in the same category (read 2015 blog POST).

Her win also ensured that she represents Melaka in the upcoming August's MSSM  to be held in Kelantan. The top 3 in all categories automatically qualifies for the Melaka team while those who finished 4th to 9th will be involved in the playoffs to determine the other 3 slots.

Farhana's third title since she started playing chess happened in the third state after Selangor (read 2013 blogPOST ) and Kuala Lumpur.

Final Practice Sesson for KYS Players

CHAMPION U12, Piala Datin Sri Komalam. 1st Title in NS

7 points from 7 rounds ensured a first title for The cHEss pIRATE in Negeri Sembilan's Piala Datin Sri Komalam U12 competition held at the SK Wawasan, Seremban 2 yesterday. After previous wins in Selangor and the Federal Territories  of KL and Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan is the fourth state where CP  had won an event.

His first title for 2016 also brought the number of competitions won by CM Amir Faiz Amirul to double digits i.e. 10 titles overall. Concurrently, the RM200 prize money earned goes a long way towards achieving a 4-digit target KPI in terms of prize money for this year.

Final Warm-up in NS prior to Melaka State Finals

The Melaka State Finals will be held next week on Tuesday and Wednesday in Masjid Tanah. Hence, it was no surprise to see a number of players turning up in Seremban for the final preparation.

This event was supposed to be the last warm-up before the State Finals but a postponement of the date made it the second last warm-up event prior to the finals.
Its been quite a while since both siblings played in the same category and not having anything to "warm-up" for, CP decided to keep his sister company in the U17 DPulze event.
