As far as I know MCF have not yet released the 2014 calendar. (Jan.2014 BlogPOST).
Hopefully, they can do it soon as in 2013 MCF had released the draft calendar early.

Having said the above, I'd received the below email from Singapore's Heng Hwee Khim:-

The next FIDE Rated Age Group event be the 31st National Age Group Chess Championships. The tentative dates are 15 Nov to 17 Nov.

All those intending to visit Singapore or had intended to "squeeze in" a trip to Universal Studios,

Please Be Advised that the dates are however tentative as at this post.

UPDATE 4 - 08/12:

Alhamdullilah, Smooth & Safe Journey - Back in Pulau Pinang for the 2nd Year running to take part in the @5th Penang Heritage City International Chess Open 2013 - Challenger Section. We even got the same room as per last year's. Hope improvements can be achieved. 

The main difference this year...emmm.....we shall see whether the challenge laid down will be taken up!

Entrance Fees cheque deposited at UOB Bank City Square, JB branch.

UPDATE 2:
Rcvd reply that account number had been changed due to system upgrade.

UPDATE 1:
At night, under very heavy rain "Tried" to deposit Cheque into PCA's UOB account(as per advertised online) via Chq Deposit Machine at DU branch but was unable to do so due to "invalid account number" indicated. Sent an email to PCA for clarification.

Just came back from Moderating a Forum (refer HERE) at Putrajaya held in conjunction with the Putrajaya International Islamic Art and Culture Festival 2013 aka PIIACuF . Some time later the kids came back...excited because they've earned 2 prizes each (1 in competition@Cash Prize and another 1 Lucky Draw Prize) after taking part in Catur FRIM/Alam Sekitar organised by Cerdik Catur. Good thing that I'd remembered to register for the 5th Penang Open as the 250players deadline seemed to be achieved earlier.Well actually, I wanted to become a PCA member earlier and save costs ( ) but as compared to last year's efficiency my email went unanswered.

It'll be the second participation in this event after last year's 4th Penang Heritage Open. hAnA earned a Bronze last year in the Girls U-10 category and am hoping that she can repeat the achievement in the U-12 category. As for the CP, this event serves as a final warm-up before WYCC 2013.

Nf6 JUNIOR Chess Championship 2012, FIDE-Rated Event in TTDI-KL

UPDATE 9/11:
hAnA's participation in this event is questionable after having to bring her to the clinic around 1-2am today due to breathing difficulties. The attending doctor I.e. Dr.S says that she's in no condition to take part in any activity whatsoever. However, I have my own opinion and hopes that she recovers fast after bring given certain medications.

If she were to miss this event, am hoping that the organisers will accept Her brother i.e. The cHEss pIRATe as a last minute replacement.

Rcvd a SMS on Saturday,3/11 from CS informing of a FIDE-rated invitational tournament to be held in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail(TTDI) - Kuala Lumpur. The organisers had extended an invitation to KL players via CS to participate in the event scheduled from 9 till 13 December 2012 and that there are 4 more slots available.

Apparently, the Nf6 Junior chess event is part of the Nf6 Masters event.


Even though I'd registered and paid for Hana's participation in the 1st Summit Open on Sunday, 11/11, how can I not register hAnA taking cognizance of the fact that the event is so close to home. Moreover, we were also planning to take part in another FIDE - rated event i..e the 4th Penang Heritage City scheduled to be held in Mid-December 2012. Read HERE.

Another info that i'd received is that in order to be FIDE-rated, hAnA will have to earn AT LEAST 1 point from all her 9 Round-Robin games.
