TEAM BRONZE 2017 - FT CLOSED 2017
( SKTTDI 1/GA Fencing Team - Daniel, Abu Bakar, Amir Faiz & Armand )
S.K.Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (1) / GA Fencing team comprising Amir Faiz(Anchor fencer), Daniel Luth, Armand (all standard four students) and Megat Abu Bakar (in standard 3) managed to secure the Bronze Medal in the 2017 FT Closed & FT Team Competition. The competition was organised by the FT Amateur Fencing Association (FTAFA) at Stadium Juara, Bukit Kiara Kuala Lumpur from 11 to 12 November 2017.
The bronze medal is also the first team medal won by Faiz and the rest of the team in a fencing competition. Also significant is the fact that Amir Faiz is a double KL medalist for both the fencing and chess team for 2017.
The team would like to record its appreciation to Coach Ghadzali Ahmad for the work done with the Foil team. TQ Coach Ghadz.

Event INFO
I might Be wrong but this is the FIRST time this year that S.K. TTDI(1) is sending a team to take part in a non-MSSKL Competition.
Just as important is the fact that the school Teachers will Be accompanying the Players. Hence, a welcome break for me...the timing of which is perfect as I have to attend 2 AGMs over the weekend in Saujana Resort and KL.

During the Bangsar Zone Prize-giving ceremony, it was announced that the KL State Finals will be held at SK Desa Tun Hussein Onn from Monday,24th February till Friday, 28th February 2014.
In the team event, the Top 5 teams will be chosen to represent Bangsar Zone. On the other hand, the Top 12 finishers in the U-12 and U-9 categories are automatically the Bangsar Zone representative.
By virtue of her SK TTDI(1) Team emerging Champions in the Girls U-12 team event and Runners-Up on tie-break in the Individual U-12 event, hAnA will be representing Bangsar Zone in both events for the 3rd year running. 2 of her team mates I.e. Najwa and Alyssa who'd finished 4th and 5th respectively in the Individual event will also be making the trip for both events. Another school mate just missed out on tie-break when she'd finished 13th.
As for CP, well what can I say - Am just grateful that the defeat and draw did not hinder him from finishing in the Top 12. He finished a "disappointing" 6th and hopefully he'd learnt his lesson as to what to do or not do. He'll be accompanying his school mate M.Al Waqeef who's the Champion in the U-9 category. Hopefully, both of them will finish in the medals at the KL State Finals.
All the Very Best to SK TTDI(1) students who'd qualified to represent Bangsar Zone in the State Finals.

Majlis Perjumpaan IbuBapa & Guru Tahun 6
Attending the Parents Teachers Meeting for Year 6 UPSR students.
The theme "Permuafakatan Membina Kecemerlangan Sekolah".
....Don't recall my parents attending PT meeting during my primary school days or perhaps they did attend but I wasn't bothered.....too busy playing around even during Standard 5 Assessment year, WaQAQA! In yesteryears, exams were never really a priority.....the only person who'll,be stressed out will be my Mum. Nowadays, even the parents seemed to be taking the exams - How Things have changed!
I suppose kids were more "mature" during yesteryears coz we sit for our exams in standard 5 rather than standard 6. In addition, we also sat for Standard 3 Assessment though the results were never revealed to us. I wonder why the exam year was changed from standard 5 to standard 6? ....do the kids actually need the additional year to prep???
Looks like its going to be a busy year for hAnA. Based on preliminary plans, don't think hAnA can be active in chess as per 2013 or 2012.
The school is outlining their Prep plans for UPSR.
Among activities identified:-
(1) Extra Class for Core subjects on Mondays,Tuesdays & Thursdays.
(2)"Clinic" for Core subjects on Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays
(3) Reading Programmes - Tuesdays(BM) & Wednesdays(English)
(4) Counselling Slots (when Necessary)
UPSR prep have been divided into the following phases:-
(1) Phase 1: Persediaan (January - June)
(2) Phase 2: Pemantapan (July - August)
(3) UPSR - September 2014
(4) Phase 4: Post UPSR..........chess time
......yadaa......yadaaa......etc......etc......yadaaa....yadaaa.....etc....etc......dozing off due to sound system echoes......
We require an estimated RM540 per student to carry out the activities. There goes my clothes budget for the year. Guess will have to "recycle" more clothes then and keep the Islamic Estate
Planner busy sewing stuffs or,......never mind!
Am just wondering what the school does with the RM500k or more allocated for being a SBT!??
One of the teacher who's retiring in February just gave a parting shot - "Kalau Boleh Kita Nak Kembalikan ke Zaman Kegemilangan Sekolah in 2004 where we were the top school in Malaysia with 100% Results". WaQAQA. Good Job mentioning it in public - don't just benchmark against "so-so" results for the past 2 or 3 years. I suppose she has nothing to lose and her pension is secured. Guru Besar/Pengetua - Please take note of the 2004 results, Ahaks!
